Welcome to Beach Town Books | Our Story
Welcome to your cozy community independent bookstore in San Clemente, CA!
Our adventure began in the summer of 2016. Back then, we were just the Langston family - frequent shoppers who loved bringing our daughters to The Village Book Exchange. When we discovered the previous owner could no longer continue daily operations, we couldn't bear the thought of our favorite local bookshop closing its doors.
Compelled to keep the literary heart of our town alive, our family stepped in, took the reins, and officially renamed it Beach Town Books.
Since that unforgettable summer, we’ve been on a perpetual journey of creativity, growth, and refinement. We have expanded our curated collection to include everything from the latest bestsellers and fresh romance inventory to timeless classics and unique local author features.

Through all the changes, the absolute best part of our experience has been you. We are endlessly grateful for the camaraderie, lifelong friendships, fierce loyalty, and genuine love we receive daily from our incredible neighborhood and our dedicated, heart-centered staff.
